Laminate veneers in Beylikdüzü: who they suit and how many visits they take

Laminate veneers are thin ceramic shells, about 0.3–0.7 mm thick, bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They change shape, colour and length with minimal reduction, and most patients are finished in 2–3 visits over about 1–2 weeks.

What is a laminate veneer?

A veneer is a thin restoration, usually made from glass ceramics such as e.max, that lets light through much like natural enamel. Unlike a zirconia crown, it covers only the front of the tooth, so far less tooth is removed.

Who are they for, and who not?

Good candidatesNeeds extra care
Discolouration that doesn't respond to whiteningSevere clenching and grinding (bruxism)
Small gaps between front teeth (diastema)Marked crowding: orthodontics may be needed first
Worn, short or misshapen teethTeeth with very little enamel left
Small chips and uneven edgesWeak teeth with large fillings or root canals

Veneers may still be possible in these cases, but a night guard, orthodontics or a different restoration is discussed first. If your teeth are crowded, aligning them with clear aligners first can reduce the reduction needed.

The veneer process

  1. Examination and smile analysis: Photos are taken and tooth and gum health checked.
  2. Mock-up try-in: The planned shape is tried on your teeth with a temporary material.
  3. Preparation and impressions: The minimum necessary reduction is done, impressions are taken and temporary veneers fitted.
  4. Bonding: After checking colour and fit, the veneers are permanently bonded with special adhesives.

How long do veneers last and how do you look after them?

Well-planned, well-maintained veneers can last many years. Not biting hard objects (nutshells, pens, nails) with your front teeth, wearing a night guard if you grind, and six-monthly check-ups all extend their life.

Frequently asked questions

Is the whole tooth cut down for a veneer?

No. Only about 0.3–0.7 mm is removed from the front surface; in some cases no reduction is needed.

Can veneers fall off?

Properly bonded veneers don't come off easily. Biting hard objects with front teeth and grinding at night increase the risk of chipping or debonding.

Will my teeth be sensitive after veneers?

When reduction stays within the enamel, sensitivity is usually mild and temporary.

Can I choose any shade I like?

Yes, a wide range of shades is possible. For a natural look we suggest a shade that suits your skin tone, the whites of your eyes and your gums; we decide together at the try-in.
