Smile design in Beylikdüzü: planning, try-in and treatment step by step

Smile design means planning the length, shape and colour of your teeth and the gum line to suit your face, and trying it in your mouth before any treatment. The plan is usually a combination of veneers or zirconia crowns, whitening, orthodontics and gum contouring.

Is smile design a single procedure?

No. Smile design isn't a treatment but a planning method. Your face, lips and teeth are analysed together, then the least invasive procedures that reach the target smile are chosen. For some patients whitening and bonding are enough; others need orthodontics first, then crowns.

We explain the general approach in what is smile design; here we focus on how the process runs at our clinic in Beylikdüzü.

Which procedures can be part of the plan?

Laminate veneersChange shape, colour and length of front teethLittle (about 0.3–0.7 mm)
Zirconia crownsFully cover weak, broken or very discoloured teethMore

Gum contouringBalances a gummy smile and asymmetryNone

How does the process work?

  1. Examination and photos: Clinical examination, X-rays and face and smile photos; we discuss your expectations.
  2. Digital plan: Tooth lengths, midline, smile line and colour options are planned.
  3. Mock-up try-in: The planned smile is recreated on your teeth with a temporary material; you see it in the mirror and in photos and can ask for changes.
  4. Approval and written plan: What will be done to each tooth, the timeline and the cost are given in writing.
  5. Treatment: The approved plan is carried out through whitening, orthodontics, veneers or zirconia.
  6. Review: Bite, speech and gum fit are checked; a night guard may be recommended.

Orthodontics first, or straight to veneers?

If teeth are crowded or tilted, aligning them with veneers means removing more tooth. In that case, a few months of clear aligners to straighten the teeth first, followed by veneers with less reduction, is often the more conservative route.

Our founder, Dr. Hüseyin Aşçı, works in orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry, so we assess both stages in a single plan. See orthodontics in Beylikdüzü for more.

Frequently asked questions

How many teeth are included in smile design?

It depends on how many teeth show when you smile; most plans involve 6 to 10 upper teeth. The number is set after photo analysis and the try-in.

Does smile design look natural?

It depends on how well tooth proportions suit your face, the colour chosen and surface detail. The try-in shows you beforehand whether the result suits you.

Is there an age limit?

Teeth and gums need to have finished developing, usually around 18. There's no upper limit; what matters is the health of the teeth and gums.

Can I change my mind after the try-in?

Yes. The mock-up uses a temporary material and nothing permanent is done to your teeth. Treatment doesn't start without your approval.
