What affects the cost of dental implants?

The cost of a dental implant isn't a single number: the implant brand, the material of the tooth on top, additional procedures such as a bone graft or sinus lift, and the total number of implants together determine the price.

Why can't everyone be quoted the same price?

Asking "how much is an implant?" is a bit like asking "how much is a car?": without knowing the model, the specification and the extras, a single answer would be misleading. Two patients may both need "one implant", but one needs only the implant and crown while the other also needs an extraction, a bone graft and a temporary tooth.

Single prices quoted over the phone or online often cover only the screw; the crown and extra procedures are added later. When comparing, look at a written plan for the whole treatment.

The main factors that set the price

FactorEffect on cost
Implant brand and systemSystems with strong long-term clinical data and good parts availability usually cost more
The crown on topZirconia, porcelain or e.max, plus the type of abutment (connecting part)
Additional surgeryExtraction, bone graft, membrane, sinus lift
Number of implantsSingle tooth, bridge or full-arch plan
Temporary toothWearing a temporary tooth in visible areas while healing
Imaging and planningCT scan, and where needed digital planning and a surgical guide

Does the implant brand really matter?

Yes, but not simply because "expensive is better". What matters is that the brand is backed by research, that spare parts will still be available years later when a crown needs replacing, and that the dentist is experienced with that system.

With an unknown or discontinued system, finding compatible parts later can be difficult. That's why the implant brand should be stated in your treatment plan.

How do bone grafts and sinus lifts affect the cost?

If a tooth was lost long ago, the bone shrinks over time. Without enough bone, a graft or, in the upper back jaw, a sinus lift may be needed before or during implant placement. These add to both cost and overall time. See our article on bone grafts and sinus lifts for details.

What to watch out for with very low prices

  • Ask whether the price covers only the screw or also the abutment and crown.
  • Ask for the implant brand and crown material in writing.
  • Be wary of a final plan made without a CT scan.
  • Ask how check-ups and any complications will be handled.

An implant is meant to stay in your mouth for many years. A small saving at the start can turn into a much larger cost if it needs to be redone.

How is the price set at Dent32?

After the examination and CT scan we share, item by item and in writing, what will be done to each tooth, the implant brand and crown material, and any additional procedures. If you send your X-rays and photos via WhatsApp we can give preliminary information. For the stages of treatment, see our step-by-step implant guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does the implant price include the crown?

It depends on the clinic. Some prices cover only the implant screw, with the abutment and crown charged separately. Ask for these items to be listed separately in any quote.

Why are implants in Türkiye often less expensive?

Lower operating and laboratory costs are the main reasons. Quality depends on the clinic, the materials and the dentist, not the country, so compare written plans rather than headline prices.

Can I pay in stages?

We discuss payment options based on the plan after the examination. Because treatment spans months, payments can usually follow the treatment stages.

Is a single implant or a bridge more economical?

A bridge can look cheaper in the short term, but it requires reducing the neighbouring teeth and may need replacing later. See our implant or bridge article for a comparison.
