Just moved to Beylikdüzü? Changing dentists: records, X-rays and unfinished treatment
When you move to a new area you may need to change dentists too. If you've moved to Beylikdüzü and getting to your old clinic is difficult, the most important thing is to take your records with you and, if you have unfinished treatment, to find out the details. That way your new dentist can carry on where things left off instead of starting again.

Which records should you ask your old clinic for?
- X-rays: Your panoramic X-ray, recent small (periapical) X-rays and any CT scan. Digital copies can be sent by email or on a USB stick.
- Treatment summary: What was done to which tooth: fillings, root canals, crowns, extractions.
- Implant details: The implant brand, system, diameter and length, and when it was placed. This is essential when the crown is made or a part needs replacing.
- Orthodontic records: Starting records, photos and, for clear aligners, which stage you are at.
- Health information: Medication, allergies and long-term conditions.
As a patient you have the right to ask for a copy of your own health records. Some treatment records may also appear on e-Nabız, Turkey's personal health record system, but X-ray images often don't, so asking the clinic directly is the most reliable route.
How does unfinished treatment continue?
| Unfinished treatment | What the new clinic looks at |
|---|---|
| An implant still healing | The implant brand and size; compatible parts are used for the crown |
| Teeth with temporary crowns | The condition of the teeth and whether a new impression is needed |
| A root canal that's been started | Whether the temporary filling is intact; medication shouldn't stay in the canal for too long |
| Clear aligner treatment | Aligner brand and stage; some systems allow transfer to another dentist |
| Braces | Bracket system and treatment plan; treatment continues using the records |
Your first appointment at a new clinic
At the first visit we review the records you bring, examine your whole mouth and take an up-to-date X-ray if needed. If your old images are very recent, new ones may not be necessary. We then explain how the unfinished treatment will be completed, and any new findings, in a written plan. See our post on the dental check-up in Beylikdüzü for details.

Frequently asked questions
Does my old clinic have to give me my X-rays?
Patients can ask for copies of their own health records. Most clinics share digital X-rays easily by email; a written request speeds things up.
I don't know my implant brand. Is that a problem?
Ask your old clinic first. If they can't be reached, the system can often be identified from an X-ray and examination, but finding compatible parts can be harder.
Can I continue my clear aligner treatment in Beylikdüzü?
In many cases, yes. Once the aligner brand and stage are known, a transfer can be planned. Some systems may need new scans and a new plan.
