Dental check-ups in Beylikdüzü: what happens at the first visit and how often to go
A dental examination means listening to your concerns, examining the whole mouth and gums, taking X-rays if needed and explaining the findings to you. Most adults are advised to have a check-up every 6 months; depending on risk, this can range from 3 to 12 months.

Why go when nothing hurts?
Decay and gum disease often cause no pain at first. Decay caught early can be fixed with a simple filling; once pain starts, a root canal and crown may be needed. Regular check-ups mean simpler and less costly treatment.
What happens at the examination?
- Medical history: You're asked about medicines, chronic conditions, allergies and pregnancy.
- Your concerns: We discuss pain, sensitivity or aesthetic goals.
- Clinical examination: All teeth, fillings, crowns, gums, tongue, cheeks and palate are examined.
- Gum measurements: Pocket depths are measured if needed.
- Imaging: X-rays or a 3D CT scan if needed.
- Findings and plan: We show you what we found and share the options and approximate cost in writing.
Which X-ray is used when?
| Imaging | When it's used |
|---|---|
| Periapical (small) X-ray | A single tooth's root, root canal treatment and infection checks |
| Bitewing X-ray | Early detection of decay between teeth |
| Panoramic X-ray | An overview of all teeth, jaws and impacted teeth |
| 3D CT (CBCT) | Implant planning, impacted wisdom teeth, bone volume and nerve distance |
Dental X-rays use a low radiation dose, and are still only taken when needed. Tell us if you're pregnant.
Before your appointment
- Bring a list of your medicines (especially blood thinners and bone medications).
- If you have X-rays or a CT scan from the last 1–2 years, bring them or send them on WhatsApp.
- Write down your questions so you can ask them all.
After the examination
You don't have to start treatment after the examination. We give you time to think it over, talk to your family or get a second opinion. Simple procedures such as cleaning or a small filling can be done the same day if appropriate.
Most patients combine their check-up with a cleaning; see professional teeth cleaning. You can book an examination seven days a week at Dent32, our dental clinic in Beylikdüzü: contact us to book.
Frequently asked questions
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every 6 months for most adults. Every 3–4 months for people with gum disease, many restorations or implants; once a year may be enough for low-risk patients.
How long does an examination take?
Usually 20–30 minutes; a little longer if X-rays or a CT scan are needed.
Can I see a dentist while pregnant?
Yes, and you should. Gum inflammation is more common in pregnancy. The second trimester is generally best for routine treatment; X-rays are taken only if needed, with protection.
Can my child be seen on the same day?
Yes. We can schedule family appointments on the same day, and we have a dedicated treatment room for children.
